Sea ballet   Iona revisited, 2004.

I travelled to Iona twenty years ago. Just one day on the island was enough to captivate me and bring a sense of peace. The pictures from this series come from a more recent trip. It was nearly midsummerís day, so I was outside from eight oíclock in the morning until midnight. The quality of light, together with the spiritual atmosphere on Iona, kept my senses alive. The pictures are about my own particular emotions at the time, reflections on life and a response to the people I met during my time there.

The seaweed swirled so gracefully in the water but when I took it out it suddenly became lifeless.
